Our Nantes offices

Farwind Energy was born at the heart of a marine-focused research and innovation hub. As a spin-off from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes, the company has established itself close to testing facilities and laboratories at the cutting edge of marine renewable energies and solutions for decarbonizing maritime transport.

With skills in aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, structures and manufacturing, the company is initially developing the Navire-Energie, a disruptive technology for capturing and converting wind energy on the high seas.
With the concept showing promise, FARWIND ENERGY was created in July 2020.
The stock-H2 European funded project was developed to focus on the energy production chain.

Rapidly expanding, and in line with its strategy of decarbonizing maritime transport, the company now designs and manufactures Flettner rotors, sail propulsion systems, for installation on its customers’ ships as well as on its own Energy Ships.
Our ambition today: to make the world’s most powerful rotor sails.
